Is the Free tier really free, or is there a trial?

Genuinely free, with no trial timer. We don’t ask for a card. The cap is 20 items, enough to leave a working binder for one trusted person. People who outgrow it usually do so at month three or four, after they’ve already felt the relief of having something written down.

What happens to my binder if I cancel Family?

It stays. Read-only access to everything you’ve added. Sealed envelopes remain accessible to the people you addressed them to. You drop back to the Free item cap for new entries, and we stop sending the annual review nudge. Nothing is deleted, ever, without your asking.

Can I export everything if I leave?

Yes, at any time, on any plan. PDF, plus a portable archive of every entry. Data portability is a trust signal, not a premium feature. We don’t hold your binder hostage.

Do you sell my data, or train AI on what I write?

No. Structurally, we couldn’t even if we wanted to. Your binder is sealed on your device before it ever reaches us, so what we hold is opaque. There is no advertising business attached to Afterward, and there will not be one. The product is the product.

What if the person I trusted needs in and I’m not reachable?

A quiet inactivity check runs in the background. If sixty days pass without you signing in, we email and text you. If another seven days pass without a response, the person you named can request access. You can override the check at any time from the app, or turn it off entirely.
